Is It Worth Writing Every Day?

These past few months, I’ve been writing every day. Whether it’s a blog post in draft, my journal, weekly column with the paper, a sales sheet, or newsletter at work. It’s words after words after words on paper.

And it’s exhausting.

But it’s also exhilarating.

This right now, what you’re reading, is worthwhile. At the end of the day, I feel complete. It’s more than crossing an item on a to-do list. It’s become a practical, relieving part of my routine.

And it sucks, sometimes.

There are posts I close my eyes, click publish and leave it to be in the ether. That I ask myself: “What is the point of that? What the hell am I trying to say?”

Often, I feel like I’ve accomplished what I set out to do, and other times it doesn’t, and if I revisit that post months down the road and it still feels off (for whatever reason) then I either edit, leave as draft or delete.

That simple.

So yes, it’s worth it. Every damn, single day.

Do you have a daily writing practice? How has it benefitted you?
